Overview
The Association of Technology Staffing Companies (ATSCo) was formed in the UK in 1999 with the following objectives.

Aim

To provide a strong and united voice creating a positive appreciation of the role, responsibilities and value of the Technology Staffing Industry.

Objectives

  • To have a positive influence on UK and European legislation that effects the Technology Staffing Industry.
  • Through the commissioning of research, intelligence gathering, conferences and seminars, provide members with timely and vital information which will facilitate informed planning and decision making.
  • To provide and enforce a clear set of business standards that will enable prospective clients, contractors and permanent candidates to have confidence in their selection of an ATSCo member.
  • To support members through training initiatives, knowledge sharing and networking opportunities as they grow and develop their business.


Code of Practice

  • Staff of all ATSCo members will be made aware of the contents of this code and will be instructed to abide by its contents.
  • Staff of all ATSCo members will understand and adhere to all current legislation, which affects their business.
  • ATSCo members will adhere to and promote the principle of equal opportunities regardless of race, religion, colour, sex, creed, age, marital status, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin.
  • ATSCo members will have a clear policy of investment, in staff development to enable best practice or at least to the level required to conduct their duties efficiently. This will encompass a satisfactory level of understanding of IT and of the client candidate needs.


Relationship with Clients Firms

  • ATSCo members will ensure their clear Terms of Business are communicated to clients immediately following the receipt of instructions.
  • ATSCo members will vet candidates not just for their technical skills, but also to ensure that they have personal characteristics which will match the culture and expectations of the client organisation.
  • ATSCo members will actively avoid misrepresenting a candidates skills and experience. Where possible, members will also take up references on candidates before submitting their details to clients.
  • ATSCo members will only provide details of potential staff to clients in response to specific vacancies or when there is likely to be real potential interest.
  • ATSCo members will refrain from offering alternative employment to employees of their own active clients.
  • ATSCo members will respect all confidential information relating to their clients business.
  • ATSCo members will not engage in illegal restraint of trade or unfair competition.
