Product Development Designer/Technical Product Designer (Initial 12 Month Contract) Dunston, Tyne and Wear Up to £30,000 Initial 12 Month Contract (with possibility of extension) Our client is a family run business specialising in the manufacture and supply of specialist bathing and access equipment. Operating at the forefront of their industry, they work in partnership with local authorities, healthcare professionals and private clients. A unique opportunity has now arisen for a Product Development Designer/Technical Product Designer to join their team on an initial 12 month contract. In this role you will be responsible for developing and designing products from concept to market, working from product briefs initiated by the MD and Sales & Marketing department. You will also upgrade and renew existing product ranges to ensure the company maintains its market leading position. This is a newly created role and as such, you ll play a key role in setting up the new product development department. This means you will need a good grounding in product design coupled with exceptional project management skills. As the Product Development Designer/Technical Product Designer your role will involve: - Bringing existing product development projects to completion - Conducting market research to evaluate the worth of product proposals - Liaising with current, and sourcing prospective, suppliers - Submitting proposals for product introduction - Liaising with the internal supply chain team

They cover civil and military telecommunications and Earth observation systems, science and navigation programmes, together with avionics and a wide range of space equipment and associated ground infrastructure. Job Description: They are seeking a Design Engineer to support the miniature cryogenic refrigeration systems within the Cryogenic Systems group for future space-based instruments. The work requires technical support to the new development and manufacturing of small batches of single- and multi-stage cooling systems and evolution of existing cryocooler products, liaising with other departments to coordinate development activities. You will be responsible for producing documentation such as test plans/procedures/reports, performance analyses, and various technical notes, and design descriptions. The role requires the liaison with customers and to make technical presentations to both customers and internal management. Core products of the department include Stirling cycle and high frequency Pulse tube cryocoolers, as well as compressors for Joule-Thomson cooling systems. Group expertise extends to work with academic institutions within the UK to develop Adiabatic Demagnetisation Refrigeration systems (down to 0.05K) as well Joule-Thomson coolers.
