A new £200 million deal will see 100 jobs being created in a datacentre in Newport.
The New Generation Data (NGD) centre will provide computer services to business and will be state-of-the-art, according to the BBC.
It will be one of the largest of its kind in Europe and will be on the site of the former LG semiconductor site.
Ieuan Wyn Jones, the deputy first minister, told the news organisation the new deal was critically important to the infrastructure in Wales.
"A data-centre of this size and capacity will not only support Welsh businesses to remain competitive in a global economy, but also has the capacity to act as a catalyst in attracting new business," he added.
Nick Razey, the chief executive of NGD, said he hoped the plant would be up and running by the end of this year.
It was recently reported that hundreds of new IT jobs would be created when Wipro opened a new facility near London.
