A second Hilton hotel is set to go ahead in Liverpool city centre, which could bring construction jobs to the Kings Dock site, it has been reported.
The plans to build a £47 million development in the Baltic Triangle has been secured after developer LAG Prichard received £22.5 million in funding from Lloyds TSB Corporate Markets, according to the Liverpool daily Post.
Jonathon Prichard, of the Liverpool-based firm, told the publication the agreement plays testimony to the confidence in the city.
"This development is another sign of Liverpools continued renaissance the fact that we secured funding for this scheme and can now start on site in the current market place shows its quality and the confidence we have in the city," he added.
A spokesperson for the hotel chain told the newspaper Liverpool is a key location in the UK for Hilton Hotels.
Hilton Hotels claims to have more than 3,000 hotels in 74 countries worldwide.
