New firm creates jobs
01/10/2008(16:15)

Up to 100 engineering jobs could be created following the launch of a new oil and gas sector consultancy in Aberdeen, it has been reported.

ClerkMaxwell has been set up by the former chief executive of Genesis Oil and Gas Consultants Alistair Dornan, according to the Scotsman.

He will bring former Amec engineering director John Wilson on board as managing director and Sean Close and Satnam Shoker, formerly of the Wood Group, as directors.

Mr Dornan told the publication: "We expect to have up to 50 people on board by the end of this year and have plans in place to increase this figure to between 70 and 100 in the second year through sustained and measured growth."

He added the firm aims to bridge the gap between the industry's operators and design and installation contractors.

Meanwhile, in other UK job news it was reported by the Halifax Evening Courier that a new partnership between Halifax firm Aspen And Court and Chinese company Bosideng could create a jobs boost to the Yorkshire town.
