HR professionals resent partner's wage
29/02/2008(16:01)

HR professionals resent their partners for not earning enough money, according to a new study.

Over 80 per cent of men and 75 per cent of women think their partner's pay packet should be larger, reports Personnel Today.

The research, carried out by Hudson, interviewed 250 HR professionals on their view about money in the relationship.

A fraction, just 3.2 per cent, claimed they never think about the amount their partner earned.

One in ten men felt the opposite and wanted their partner to earn less so they could take the role of being the main breadwinner.

Hudson's associate director, Anthony Pierce, said: "It's natural to be concerned about money, particularly in the current economic climate.

"However, most HR professionals would readily admit there is much more to job satisfaction than their salary," he added.

Recent research found that the average salary for a HR professional is over £43,000, an 11 per cent increase on the previous year.
