A new survey by The Stroke Association has found the most stressed out workers in the UK.
The Stroke in Business report claims that the recruitment sector is the "most stressful".
According to Personnel Today, the study found that 82 per cent of recruitment consultants admitted to regularly feeling stressed at work.
The report, which surveyed 1,000 workers from a variety of professions, also found that drinking, smoking and comfort eating were the major ways in which workers deal with stress.
Greg Orme, chief executive at recruitment company Major Players, told the website he was "not surprised" that the industry was identified as most stressful.
"We work in a highly competitive environment, sometimes working long hours to deliver results for our clients and candidates," he added.
Estimates from the National Recruitment Federation claim that over 100,000 jobs will be filled by employment agencies in 2008, reports Online Recruitment.
