Almost a quarter of people in the finance industry have become ill due to their work, according to a new study.
The study from Benenden Healthcare found that 24 per cent of accountants or other finance professionals admitted that their work had made them ill.
Accountancy Magazine reports that some 68 per cent of respondents said that the demands of the job made them feel run-down.
Paul Keenan, from the healthcare firm, told the website that the figures are of "particular concern" due to the "current economic climate".
"It is important for employers to take into account the health impact work can have on their employees, and that they ensure their employees get sufficient rest time to recuperate from illness," he added.
The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants recently found that the average wage for its members was 99,419 (£80,071), the Irish Examiner reported.
