Two-thirds of employees 'can't get no satisfaction'
11/07/2008(15:41)

New research has revealed the levels of satisfaction felt among employees in the UK.

A study commissioned by charity The Vodaphone Group Foundation found that on average workers are 63 per cent fulfilled by their job.

Online Recruitment reports that it also found that six million workers suffer from "extreme dissatisfaction" on a daily basis in their work life.

IT workers were found to experience the lowest fulfilment in their employment, with radio DJs believed to be the most satisfied group of workers.

"The worker experiencing the peak of professional happiness is aged 55; based in Norwich; a self-employed veteran at senior level in a small company; working out of the office in a media or marketing role," explained the website.

Recent research from ReThinkRecruitment found that the number of IT support jobs in the UK rose by 20 per cent over the last two years, Computer Weekly reported.
