Rok creates new jobs
13/10/2008(15:31)

Development firm Rok has announced new construction jobs after securing building and refurbishment contracts at major UK airports.

The firm has been selected by airport owners BAA to commence with a number of projects, ranging from £2 million to £20 million in value.

Falling under BAA's Commodity Build Framework, the new contract will allow the construction firm to oversee work at Heathrow, Stansted, Edinburgh and Glasgow airports.

Rok chief executive Garvis Snook told Building.co.uk: "BAA quite rightly sets extremely high standards for its suppliers and we are pleased that we are able to meet and often exceed these.

"It is great news for all of us that our work has been extended by this new framework."

The government recently gave the green light for the redevelopment of Stansted airport, which will increase its capacity by ten million to 35 million.

Rok was created in 2001 and claims to continue a rapid but sustainable expansion through a mixture of organic growth and acquisition.
