Accountants in Ireland are now earning average salaries of almost 100,000 (£79,788), according to a new study.
The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) salary survey found that the average yearly wages for its members was 99,419, reports the Irish Examiner.
It also found that those who work at above the level of director could earn up to 161,310.
The typical accountant salary equated to over two and a half times the national average in Ireland, with those in Limerick taking home the most money each year.
Denis McCarthy, the divisional director with CIMA Ireland, told the newspaper that the remuneration levels were "very satisfactory".
"Despite the economic slowdown and evidence of an increase in unemployment across the economy, CIMA members remain largely positive regarding their own prospects," he added.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales has established a new jobs board to advertise roles for accountants and other finance professionals, Online Recruitment reported.
