Here at JobServe we have created a revolutionary new and powerful service called Alchemy that is totally different to the current generation of candidate search tools.

Alchemy analyses your activity - the searches that your have been running, the jobs you have applied for online and their locations.  This gives a much clearer picture of what you are looking for right now and helps us send you details of jobs that previously you may have missed.  And if you are currently not looking for work, we won't bother you (unless you ask us to).

Alchemy will also provide your skills from your CV (edited so you can’t be identified) and where you want to work to recruiters looking for that ‘hot candidate’. Recruiters will be able to email you details of their job for you to decide whether you want to apply for it or not.

Only when you have applied for the job will your name and contact details be known to the recruiter, as Alchemy will ensure your privacy is respected at all times.

If you haven’t activated your CV on JobServe then Alchemy won’t work for you. So it’s important to activate your CV now!

Q. How can I look better on Alchemy ?

• Log in every time you visit www.jobserve.com
• Review your Personal Details and Job Preferences within Your Details. Ensure your name, address and contact details are complete and up-to-date and your job preferences reflect the role you are currently seeking.
• Review your activated CV to make sure it is up-to-date and includes a brief profile about your current work experience and skills.
• When applying online for jobs, complete the application form as comprehensively as you can.

Q. What candidate information is shown on Alchemy to recruiters and employers ?

Where you have previously provided this information, it will show:

• Whether you are actively looking for jobs right now by displaying the date and type (permanent or contract) of your last job applications.
• The location(s) where you are currently job hunting, compared to where you live.
• The distance you are willing to travel in miles/kms.
• Preferred salary or hourly rate.
• From your activated CV we will display an extract of recent employment, your top 10 skills and your profile, if provided.

Q. I am currently job-hunting with an activated CV but don’t always log into JobServe when searching and applying for jobs – does that affect how I appear on Alchemy?

A. Yes. You will be listed within Alchemy but not at the top of the list as you are not seen as a ‘hot candidate’ who is currently looking for work.  To improve your rating, always log in to www.jobserve.com when job-hunting and it is definitely worth adding a personal profile to your activated CV if you haven’t done so already.

Q. I have selected ‘Ask Me’ within my CV Activation Options – does this affect the way I appear on Alchemy?

A. Yes. As Alchemy does not give your details to the advertiser, Recruiter Agencies will be able to find you and email you their job but will not be able to see your contact details.

If you have selected “Ask Me” for Direct Employers they will not find you on Alchemy.

Q. I have not activated my CV – will I appear in Alchemy?

A. No. If you have not activated your CV, neither your CV nor activity will be shown in Alchemy.  To give you the best chance to find your ideal job you should activate your CV.
