A new business park in Yorkshire is set to create 1,000 jobs, it has been reported.
Scarborough Business Park has been completed which developers claim will provide an employment boost to the surrounding areas, according to the York Press.
Peter Holley, director of Caddick Developments, told the publication the opening marks a milestone for the business park, which boasts more than one million square feet of industrial space and offices, a 20,000 sq ft hotel, 11,000 sq ft for shops, 39,500 sq ft for car showrooms and more than 9,000 sq ft for restaurants.
"We are delighted to be bringing forward a development that will have such a positive economic impact for the town. We are experiencing a surge in demand for the new commercial space," he added.
Meanwhile, in other jobs news it was reported last week by the Newcastle Journal that GP Building Solutions had won a contract to build three new schools in the north-east of England which has secured 75 construction jobs for the work.
