One town could be heading for a jobs "bonanza" due to its location near a development planned for the energy industry, it has been reported.
Lowestoft is "ideally placed" to take advantage of a new nuclear power station which could be built on the Suffolk coast, according to the Lowestoft Journal.
The publication reports Waveney MP Bob Blizzard said the town was particularly well located and the area could enjoy a "jobs bonanza" as Gordon Brown moves towards nuclear and renewable energy.
Mr Blizzard told the publication: "These will be major construction projects but it is not only jobs in the construction industry that will be created as there will be a supply chain that will involve a whole range of businesses."
He added that he believes local companies will be involved and this is further good news for the town's economy.
Meanwhile, it was reported by the BBC earlier in the week that the congestion charge proposed for Manchester could bring as many as 10,000 new jobs to the city, according to a report released by Arup on behalf of the Greater Manchester Transport Executive.
