Vodafone plans new stores
14/08/2008(12:56)

Vodafone is to add approximately 50 stores across its UK stores, creating some 200 new jobs, it has been reported.

The mobile phone giant is taking its total number of stores to 400 and as such will need to boost its sales teams.

Online news resource Market Watch adds that last March the company revealed it is planning 300 new retail jobs as part of an initiative to enhance customers' experiences.

At the time, director of consumer sales for the brand Tom Devine told Mobile News: "We need to make sure that our customers and potential customers can speak face-to-face with a retail advisor at a town near them and ensure we can not only meet, but surpass our customers' expectations."

New stores will be launched from September with location including Bristol, Liverpool and London.

The Press Association reports that it is hoped all of the new stores will be set up by spring 2009.

Meanwhile, Barclaycard has recently recruited some 200 individuals to its customer services team and is looking to employee a further 120 people.
