It is reported that a new TV show is being developed to help get people in the UK back into work.

The government and ITV are rumoured to be in the early stages of discussions over a new series involving controversial TV host Jeremy Kyle.

Provisionally titled Jeremy Kyle Gets Britain Working, the show would highlight ways in which people could get off benefits, find help to get training and return to work.

A spokesperson for the Department for Work and Pensions said: "We want to use our communications as effectively and efficiently as possible to motivate and support people into work.

"We have appointed an agency to explore advertising-funded programming but no decisions have been taken."

A recent YouGov report, commissioned by the Trades Union Congress, found that 14 per cent of UK workers are "not very" or "not at all" confident about the future of their employment over the next 12 months.
