06/08/2008(15:30)

A new office development which has been proposed for Port Talbot could create up to 400 jobs.

The project's developer TCN has unveiled its £10 million plans for the 60,000 square foot site at Baglan Energy Park, the BBC reports

A health club, nursery, a conference centre and office suites are all planned in the new development, with all available space already let according to TCN.

Baglan Energy Park has already created jobs for over 1,600 people in companies including Amazon, Intertissue and the Japanese company Hi-Lex Cables Systems.

Derek Vaughan, leader of Neath Port Talbot Council, told the news provider that the latest announcement "builds on our recent success".

"I am delighted that Baglan Energy Park is bucking the economic trend and still attracting business and jobs to the area," he added.

A new Airbus factory being built in Broughton, North Wales, is set to create an extra 100,000 jobs in the UK's aerospace industry.
