Nearly half of line managers want a new job
23/01/2008(15:41)

Almost half of UK line managers are looking for a new job, according to new research.

The research by Roffey Park found that 47 per cent of the 479 workers surveyed were looking for new work, reports Personneltoday.

Of the group 33 per cent wanted to move to a different company, and five per cent wanted to become self employed.

The remaining 12 per cent were looking for a different job within the same organisation, according to the website.

If respondents were more junior and the company they work for was not very successful they were more likely to be looking for employment elsewhere.

Reasons for leaving included lack of job security and not feeling valued, but career development topped the list.

Roffey Park says it has provided personal and organisational training for the past 60 years, particularly focussing on the human side of management.
