A multi-million pound investment will create scores of jobs at an Eastbourne pharmaceutical firm, it has been reported.
Teva UK has announced it is defying the global financial crisis and is launching a £20 million expansion scheme, according to the Eastbourne Herald.
It will increase its workforce by 25 per cent creating 50 jobs in the area.
According to the report, the new positions will include technicians, packaging engineers, supervisors and quality control analysts.
Karl Belk, the firm's operations and supply chain director, told the newspaper the company wants to be a good neighbour to the town and is pleased to be able to go-ahead with the expansion plans.
Eastbourne borough council leader David Tutt welcomed the news adding: "Any news like that is good news for Eastbourne. I wish them every success."
Meanwhile, Recruiter magazine reported this week that new jobs could be created in the hospitality sector as firms look to draw in punters with two-for-one offers and other promotional tools.
