Law firms in the UK have been advised to implement a recruitment strategy to help attract more talented staff into the industry.
Research by Big Four company Deloitte found that 90 per cent of firms have difficulties - particularly smaller organisations - with recruiting talented employees.
In addition, one-third of UK law firms to do not have a formal talent management strategy in place, the research revealed.
Jon Clark, director of the Strategic Employee Reward Team at the Deloitte called for smaller firms to highlight incentives besides pay and bonus schemes to job applicants.
"Firms outside of the Top 20 recognise that often they cannot compete with the larger firms on base pay and need to differentiate along other lines in order to compete for talent," he remarked.
Although large bonuses and wages were found by Deloitte to be the main motivation behind those seeking work in the industry, other aspects such as company culture, career prospects and training opportunities are increasing in importance.
