Up to 100 new jobs could be created in the opening of a new care home in Shropshire.
Work on the £6.5 million nursing home is set to start later this year, pending planning approval, reports the Shropshire Star.
The 75 bed unit will be set in an acre of land and will have IT suites, en suite rooms and restaurants.
David Coull, the chief executive of Coverage Care who has submitted the plans, told the enwspaper: "With 75 beds, we will need to employ about 100 part-time and full-time staff and its going to be a significant development for the town; its going to start off some good quality choices for older people in Whitchurch."
If approved the project is planned to be finished by April 2010, pending a decision from the North Shropshire district council.
Coverage Care already owns 12 care homes in the region and is a not-for-profit company, with all surplus money being reinvested into the business.
