An aviation company has announced the creation of over 100 jobs in Australia.
Tiger Airways is to create up to 120 new jobs at its Melbourne headquarters, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.
Up to 60 flight crew positions and a similar amount of maintenance jobs are set to be created.
A new contract signed with John Holland Aviation Services will create opportunities for technicians to perform checks on the airline's A320 fleet.
John Brumby, premier of Victoria, told the newspaper that passenger numbers at Melbourne Airport grew both internationally and domestically during 2007.
"More than 24 million passengers used Melbourne Airport last financial year, bringing valuable tourist dollars to our economy," he added.
Tiger recently appointed Soh Keng Taan as its new chief information officer to take responsibility for the company's IT services across the Asia Pacific region.
