Young UK lawyers given Netherlands exchange opportunity
23/04/2008(15:18)

Young lawyers in the UK are to be given the chance to take part in an exchange trip to the Netherlands in the 2008 Anglo Dutch Young Lawyers Exchange.

The event is organised by the London Young Lawyers Group, the Young Barristers Committee (YBC) and the Junior Law Division and gives young lawyers the chance to enhance their careers.

YBC chairman, Julia Beer, said: "It is an extremely enjoyable event and enables young barristers not only to make contacts with lawyers from the Netherlands but also to enhance their understanding of the Dutch legal system and cultural environment."

Solicitors with under five years of post qualification experience and barristers with under ten years call can all apply for the exchange.

Participating lawyers host guests in their own homes and the event alternates between the UK and the Netherlands.

In related news for young lawyers, the College of Law has announced that it is launching a branch worth £5.5 million in Manchester.
