A new £5 million furniture showroom in East Anglia will create approximately 70 new jobs.
Furnishing retailer Glasswells has bought a 73,000 sq ft site on the Orwell Retail Park in Ipswich to build the showroom on, according to the East Anglian Daily Times.
The showroom will sell furniture of all kinds, and lighting, giftware, cookware and will have an in-store design service.
It will also have a restaurant serving tea, coffee, cakes and main meals and a children's "PlayZone", reports the newspaper.
Paul Glasswell, managing director, said: "Glasswells plans to offer something very different to other furnishing retailers in the town. We're a family business and we have a real commitment to the region."
He went on to tell the newspaper that Ipswich was undergoing a lot of development and that the company saw it as holding great potential.
The existing store in nearby Martlesham will stay open, but the Furniture Now store based on the retail park will close as soon as building work begins.
Glasswells was founded in 1946 and has become the largest family run home furnishings company in East Anglia.
