A north-east-based architecture firm is seeking to expand across the country by 2012, it has been reported.
According to The Journal, _space architecture, which has its headquarters in Newcastle and premises in Leeds, is currently investigating brownfield sites near Salford as well as locations in the Midlands and south-east for new developments.
"We are very excited about our UK growth, and are looking for interesting buildings to develop as our offices," the company's chief executive Rob Charlton told the publication.
"Hopefully we can work with local suppliers and employ local people in every city or town we open in, to ensure our footprint is as ethical as possible," he added.
Previously called Waring & Netts, _space employs 150 people and hopes to increase its turnover to £12 million during the next five years.
In other news from the north-east, increased working hours at Nissan's Sunderland plant to meet demand for its Qashqai small SUV, which started last Sunday, will create 800 extra jobs.
