A number of workers laid off from a motor industry manufacturer have been offered new jobs, it has been reported.

Some of the 92 staff who will lose their jobs when a car parts manufacturer in Euroa, north-east Victoria closes its doors have secured work, according to ABC News.

The town's biggest employer, Teson Trims, closes tomorrow (October 10th) after going into voluntary administration last month.

According to the report, a meeting will be held today for workers to discuss their employment and training options and Strathbogie Shire Mayor Greg Carlson told the publication some of the workers have "already" been offered work in the region.

"I think that it will take a considerable amount of time, months obviously rather than weeks, but I'm confident that we can make good headway over the medium term, in terms of accessing or providing people with the opportunity to seek employment," he added.

Meanwhile, in other Australian jobs news it was reported by the St Marys Star that a new residential site and town centre is to be built between Penrith and St Marys, which will create thousands of jobs.
