A major automotive manufacturer is planning to launch a new training centre.
Jaguar Land Rover is to house a new technical academy on its recently purchased site in Heathcote.
According to the Coventry Telegraph, alongside a number of full-time jobs set to be created at the centre, up to 100 people will also be trained at the academy.
The first intakes of trainees are set to be introduced to the academy in early 2009.
John Ward, manager of service development and communication for Jaguar Land Rover, told the newspaper that all the company's apprentices "come through the academy".
"The Academy will be used to train and instruct a whole host of people ranging from 14-year-old students on our schools scheme through to those on our Train the Trainer programme who travel to us from across the globe," he added.
Gordon Brown recently visited the Jaguar car plant in Castle Bromwich to see the company's apprenticeship programme in operation.
He said the Jaguar workforce displayed "enthusiasm and determination".
