Mill creates jobs

Scores of jobs could be created as a multi-million dollar woodchip mill is to be created, it has been reported.
The South West Fibre mill, which is expected to cost some $30 million to build, is located at Myamyn to the north of Portland, according to ABC news.
One union is claiming that workers laid off from the nearby Dartmoor sawmill should be considered for the roles.
The Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union is calling on the firm to approach the 100 mill workers from the site which closed yesterday (September 25th).
Brad Coates, the union's national forestry organiser, told the news provider, South West Fibre has shown an interest in taking on some of the "retrenched workers" and contact has been made with the affected workers at Dartmoor.
"There has been some discussions and I'd think there'd be a fairly good chance that some of those affected workers from Dartmoor will end up gaining employment with Southwest Fibre," he explained.
It was reported last week by ABC news that figures released by the Bureau of Statistics found job numbers are up in the Australian financial sector despite the current climate.
