One Newstead company has created dozens of jobs despite the current economic downturn, it has been reported.
Shop-fitting firm UNO Group has announced it has boosted its workforce by 30 people despite the retail gloom, according to the Staffordshire Sentinel.
The publication noted that the organisation cited record levels of sales for the new jobs, which takes its team up to 145-strong.
It added new contracts with the Co-operative Group, Burger King and Gamestation were among the deals that spurred on the workforce expansion.
Chief executive Dominic Perks told the publication: "We have created 30 jobs [this year] and business continues to grow. I see our business as recession-proof. Turmoil creates change in terms of what the high street looks like
and then our services are required."
He added that retail firms have to try and stimulate Christmas sales and a store makeover is one way of doing that.
Meanwhile, BBC News reported last week that scores of jobs have been guaranteed by Southeastern's decision to locate train depots in Ashford and Ramsgate.
