Scores of new jobs have been created at a new luxury hotel in Reading, it has been reported.
The £23 million hotel will generate 125 jobs when it is opened at the town's Winnersh Triangle, according to the Reading Evening Post.
Windsor-based hotelier Meridian Leisure has begun construction work on the four-star Holiday Inn, which will be located in the South Reading business complex.
Christina Broulidakis, group solicitor of Meridian Leisure, told the publication the venue will be marketed specifically for business guests and will incorporate conference facilities.
"We have provided luxury amenities for business park employees to enjoy after a busy day in the office. The success of this prototype hotel will be implemented across several other sites we currently have in the pipeline," she added.
The newspaper notes that around 3,000 workers are based at the Winnersh Triangle complex and the site has plans to boost this to 20,000 over the course of the next 15 years.
Meanwhile, the Press Association reported last week that the Policy Studies Institute claimed tens of thousands of jobs could be created if Britain stopped turning the clocks back every October.
