ORACLE DBA - GLASGOW

We are a global consultancy and due to our rapid expansion program, we are urgently seeking a commercially experienced Oracle DBA to be based on a key customer site in Glasgow. Candidates with previous Telco experience would be advantageous, although this isn't essential. Successful applicants will enjoy the following company benefits: Excellent salary with performance related bonus and paid overtime and regular reviews o Private Healthcare o Company Pension Scheme o Free On-site Parking o Flexible benefits scheme allowing you to tailor your benefits package according to your needs o Sponsored accreditation (OCA/OCP) What is required and essential for this role is that your skills will include: o Strong enterprise level Oracle database administration on versions 8i, 9i and 10g administrating very large databases of at least 50GB o Sun Solaris and Windows platform experience o Backup and Recovery using RMAN (preferably with Veritas backup) o Oracle Performance Tuning on 8i, 9i and 10g o Dataguard/log shipping experience o Shell Scripting o Experience using Veritas products (eg Netbackup, Veritas Filesystems, Cluster Server) Preferred Experience: o MS SQL Server DBA experience (2000 or 2005) o Oracle or Microsoft DBA certification Due to the urgency of this role, interviews have been prescheduled for the week commencing 28th April and all submissions must be in before the closing date of 12th May 2008.
