Interim Transport Operations Manager

Our client is an express parcels carrier and with a network of depots across the UK they are a major player in what is a fast moving and competitive sector. They are now seeking an Interim Transport Operations Manager at their depot located in North London. The Company is involved in a major change programme in which the Branch Manager and Operations Manager is heavily involved. The purpose of this interim appointment is to bring in an accomplished Transport Manager who will have the overall control and accountability of the Transport Operation. The successful candidate will ensure transport legislation and company policy is adhered to and health and safety standards are maintained within the confines of the locations transport operation. You will ensure customers are provided with a high quality, professional collection and delivery service in accordance with the requirements of our clients customers, ensuring that our clients image to the general public is protected at all times. You will have control of Driving Crews with the overall responsibility for recruitment, selection, training and performance issues. You will monitor and review performance of staff to ensure that targets are achieved or beaten within budgeted costs and will discipline, counsel and coach staff as and when required. You will plan in advance to ensure that all areas within the Specialised Operations Transport Operation are being managed and resources utilised effectively.
