Mechanical Engineering Manager To 55k Manage the team of engineers, which includes selection, management and training of the team and providing them with a structure and career path. The position will require good coaching and leadership skills. To follow, develop and continually improve the design processes and procedures to ensure the release of quality, tested, robust designs and eliminate unexpected failures within the design process. Propose, implement and manage a roadmap of improved practices and tools to assist in product design and development. Including but not restricted to simulation tools for stress, thermal and shock performance, tools to facilitate re-use and standard design, supplier integration tools and S/W packages. Liaise with the company purchasing team to help manage and choose the supplier base the company needs to stay ahead. Be involved with appropriate management reviews and negotiations with suppliers and partners and actively promote supplier participation in our design activities. Liaise with the program and product Manager to anticipate and provide innovative cost effective solutions to their product program needs. Proving new, unique of difficult solutions before the projects reached its commitment phase. Degree or HND qualified with demonstratable accomplishments Extensive experience in a medium volume electro mechanical instrumentation field or consumer electronics field Ideally capable of using SDRC Master series.
