We act in conjunction with another recruitment company on this assignment whose client is an engineering company who specialise in manufacturing avionics equipment and who is part of a British International Engineering Group with sales of over £600m pa. Currently seeking a Purchasing Manager to be based at their manufacturing plant on the South Coast in Hampshire. The primary purpose of the role is to develop and manage the Purchasing Function in order to satisfy our clients business objectives. Reporting into the Procurement Director you will assist them in the formulation an execution of the purchasing strategy. You will manage a team of Buyers on a daily basis and in doing so will develop the capabilities of the purchasing function. Responsible for pro-active supplier and sub- contractor management. You will ensure the ERP purchasing module is effectively managed and utilized including problem identification and resolution. You will ensure that the purchasing intake value is in line with budgets. Fully compliant with all relevant export controls and legislation and be fully conversant with the Group Export Policy. You will facilitate relevant projects which assist with fulfilling supply chain objectives and Group purchasing activities and finally you will ensure relevant purchasing metrics and action plans are produced and maintained to drive improvements.
