JobServe introduces Quick Links Article Listing

15 July 2011 08:30

We are all familiar with bar codes and scanning when grocery shopping. And we know how today’s smart phones can do so much more than phone and text.

So now JobServe has combined these technologies and introduced bar codes for jobs accessible by phone.

When looking at job adverts on JobServe candidates will notice a new ‘dotted’ barcode. These are QR barcodes, which candidates can scan using most modern mobile phones with a suitable (and freely available) app installed.

By scanning the Quick Links with their smart phone a candidate can download a copy of the job title, along with a URL to take them straight back to the job advert. Most phones will then allow the user to browse the job, and store the link. This new Quick Link provides a really easy way for bookmarking jobs "on the move".

Les Powell, General Manager Product & Service Delivery described this latest upgrade, "We have now introduced a new Quick Link image into the job description pages. These Quick Links are QR barcodes that may be read with any modern mobile phone with a suitable app installed. By scanning the barcode candidates can quickly store the job for quick and easy recall later - far quicker than it would be to email the link. Many mobile phones will also enable navigation straight to the job from the QR code.

We believe that we are the first job board to offer this sort of quick linking, and look forward to hearing how useful our candidates find it. Free QR barcode reader apps are available for the iPhone, Blackberry and many other modern mobile phones."
