A little bit of history...
Formed in 1993 by entrepreneur Robbie Cowling and his business partner John Witney, JobServe was the world's first Internet Recruitment Service.
With the country emerging from the early nineties recession, it was whilst working together as IT contractors that Robbie and John realised how difficult it was to find employment from recruitment magazines advertising out-of-date positions. Working in an environment where everybody used email, they quickly realised the potential benefit of receiving a daily digest of jobs-by-email targeted to their specific job requirements.
On May 4th 1994, JobServe launched as the world's first 'jobs-by-email' service. This was swiftly followed the same year with JobServe's first web presence - the world's first recruitment website.
The innovation shown by the founders has remained paramount to the rapid and continued successful growth of JobServe. To this day, the JobServe Research & Development teams, supported by extremely capable, knowledgeable and enthusiastic sales and support teams, are central to ensuring that JobServe remains at the leading edge of online recruitment.
Now operating across almost all industry sectors, JobServe has a truly global presence. Headquartered in Essex, United Kingdom, JobServe also has primary offices in Cleveland and Atlanta in the US, Sydney in Australia and Ottawa in Canada.
In 2010, JobServe published 200,000 jobs and processes more than 1 million applications each month. It boasted circa 1.5 million visits per month, serving in the order of 8 million page views.
The jobs-by-email service - the seed from which the company was born - remains a crucial service to our candidates, and we currently deliver over 1.2 million subscription emails per day!
Our ethos of providing the best quality service to our candidates and thus, in turn, to our advertisers is paramount to our success and the loyal candidate and customer base that we support.
Having operated a job board since the early nineties, JobServe still leads in many of the approaches it takes. For example, JobServe remains one of the few job boards that employ a dedicated team that check the quality of each job and CV/resume. Our tight operating policies ensure that we only advertise genuine and current jobs, resisting recycling long-since-filled jobs unlike many of our competitors.
JobServe's Alchemy smart matching engine proactively matches candidates with jobs, further enhancing the offering to both candidates and advertisers alike.
Our integration with the Jobg8 network provides further value-add for our customers, ensuring the maximum reach for their job and drawing in relevant applications from candidates within the entire job board network.
