Childhood obesity is a rising issue in the UK and can lead to health implications in later life. Encouraging children to lead a healthy lifestyle is essential. Teaching children to take responsibility for their own health and fitness will give them the tools to apply sound techniques through their adult life. By allowing children the opportunity to make the right choices and understand why they are important, we can provide them with the information for long term health. Develop your knowledge of nutritional and physical needs, food labelling, the digestive system, food hygiene and how to plan a meal. You will also explore the dietary needs of five specific age groups; babies, ages 1 to 3, 3 to 5, 6 to 12 and teenagers.
