A new call centre in Hull is set to create scores of new jobs in the city, it has been reported.
Telephone and broadband supplier Axis Telecom is boosting its workforce in preparation for when it opens the call centre next month, according to Hull Daily Mail.
It will immediately generate 70 new jobs with promises of more on the way next year, the report noted.
When the office opens in December it will bring the firm's workforce to about 250 and the business is currently in the middle of a recruitment process to fill positions for managers, team leaders, customer service and telesales staff.
David Meyers, the company's managing director, told the publication: "We provide high standards of customer service coupled with attractive prices. As the credit crunch continues to bite, people are looking to save more money, so we are confident of still further growth."
Meanwhile, the Derby Evening Telegraph reported this week that hundreds of new jobs could be created if plans for a biomass power station in the county get the green light.
