Mid Level Java Developer

Yoh has a contract opportunity for an Intermediate Java Web Software Developer to join our client in Aberdeen, MD.

Possession of or the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance w/SSBI investigation is required as a condition for employment.

Job Responsibilities:
- Reviewing, analysing, modifying and creating software programs, primarily in JAVA. The developer will work under some supervision, but will be expected to work independently
- May interact with end-users and other technical personnel to identify and correct software problems.
- Primary support includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Coding, testing, debugging and installing JAVA software applications
- Developing applications from a detailed design specification and unit test plan
- Resolve any technical issues related to newly-created or modified code, through debugging and troubleshooting
- Interacting directly with the end users and/or technical POC to resolve software problems
- Adheres to software compliance standards

Job Qualifications:
- BS/BA in Computer Science or directly related field
- One to five (1-5) years of experience developing JAVA applications with the latest JDs 1.5 or higher, JDBC, and SQL
- Skilled in Java, JDBC, SQL, XML and troubleshooting techniques knowledge of Object
- Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD), Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Entity
- Relationship Diagrams (ERD), UML, and testing frameworks
- Must possess industry certifications to meet DoD Directive 8570.01 training requirements, as required, such as CompTIA Security+ and Java certification

Preferred Job Skills/Experience/Knowledge:
- Experience with Web Services, JUnit, and Subversion is highly desirable
- Basic Linux knowledge and familiarity with Web Service/SOA Architecture is also a plus
