Senior Citrix Engineer

The Sr Citrix Engineer is responsible for maintaining Citrix systems to ensure reliability and optimization to the business and its customers. Responsibilities include systems design, implementation, solution research and troubleshooting of complex issues within the context of Citrix XenApp/XenServer environments. Work to standardize and automate repeatable tasks and steps across multiple accounts while providing coaching and mentoring to more junior team members. The Sr. Citrix Engineer will also be responsible for providing technical leadership for strategic projects and initiatives on the Citrix roadmap.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Researches, recommends, and implements changes to applications and systems
• Ensures stability and performance of Citrix Servers
• Ensures the management of implementations of new Servers and OS releases and updates
• Performs time-management and multi-tasking activities, balancing daily project work while simultaneously supporting existing applications
• Must be self-motivated, independent and resourceful
• Must have the capacity to be decisive and flexible
• Possesses strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Possesses superior communications skills, verbal and written
• Must gain complete understanding of Citrix Farm.

Candidates must be able to quantify their knowledge/skill in the following:

• Experience in Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 and above
• Advanced Configuration of WS2K3/WS2K8
• Management of Users and Groups within Active Directory
• Intermediate administration skills, including understanding of Protocols (TCP), Firewalls, Terminal Services policies and profiles, Creating and Managing Shares
• Experience with Access Management and Presentation Server Console
• Ability to Install, Publish, and Administer applications
• Ability to Configure and Support Printing
• Managing Citrix Policies
• Strong background in server virtualization using VMware.
• Exposure to Citrix Multimedia Delivery (HDX) and VDI, while not required, is strongly preferred

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer or Healthcare field or equivalent experience
• Applicable Technical Certification and/or training
• Experience in XenApp, Xen Desktop, VDI, NetScaler or Citrix Access Gateway skills

JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years' experience in Systems Administration experience in an enterprise infrastructure
• Experience installing, troubleshooting, operating, testing, planning and configuring Citrix and Windows technologies
