SAIC has a career opportunity for a Mission IT Support - Infrastructure Architect Telecom Support located in Albuquerque, NM. The candidate selected for this position will become a full time employee of SAIC.

Job Description

SAIC is seeking a highly motivated individual with a solid understanding of networking, firewalls, WAN/LAN technologies, operating systems, encryption, and application programming and scripting. The individual must be able to leverage their own extensive knowledge and expertise, as well as that of their team members, to troubleshoot difficult problems, develop unique solutions for complex issues, and recommend long term and strategic direction for the organization. In addition to working with the corporate production networks, additional responsibilities will include supporting the High Performance Computing (HPC) efforts by providing technical advice and expertise to the Advanced Simulation and Computing program and Work for Others (WFO) research projects.

REQUIRED:

- A minimum of 8+ years of networking and application development experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Cisco, Brocade, and Juniper networking equipment.
- Strong working knowledge of Juniper Firewall equipment.
- Strong working knowledge of multiple flavors of the Linux OS as well as Windows.
- Working knowledge of General Dynamics and L3 network encryption equipment.
- Strong understanding of C programming language.
- Strong understanding of shell, Python, Perl, Ruby Scripting languages.
- Strong working knowledge of high performance computing networking technologies and requirements.
- Willingness and ability to mentor team members.

DESIRED:

- Working knowledge of Brocade Firewall equipment.
- Knowledge of Palo Alto application firewalls.
- Knowledge of A10 Networking Equipment.
- IPv6 implementation experience.

Clearance Level:

Candidates must possess an active DOE Q-Clearance.

Qualifications:

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in a related field and 8+ years experience in a broad range of assignments in technical tasks directly related to the proposed area of responsibility. An additional 4 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
