SAIC has a career opportunity for a Mission IT Support - Networking Programmer and Data Specialist located in Albuquerque, NM. The candidate selected for this position will become a full time employee of SAIC.

Job Description:

SAIC is seeking a highly motivated individual with expertise in networking and data infrastructure as well as application development, scripting, and database design and implementation. The applicant will be required to lead efforts around the development applications and databases, creating adhoc SQL queries and production SQL reports, and writing scripts that help improve the efficiency of the departmental, reduce or eliminate redundant tasks, and improve the integrity in the systems that help to maintain the telecommunications infrastructure and network equipment. The individual is expected to make recommendations and develop plans that will keep the department at the forefront of networking technologies while working with other team members to help mentor them on ways to improve the overall effectiveness of the department

REQUIRED:

- Strong understanding of MS/SQL and database design.
- Experience creating complex SQL queries including multiple subqueries.
- Using data mining and data analysis to clean and transform network data to highlight network aspects otherwise not available.
- Strong understanding of network management systems, preferably Panorama.
- Working knowledge of multiple flavors of the Linux OS as well as Windows.
- Strong understanding of Shell and Perl Scripting languages.
- Strong working knowledge of high performance computing networking technologies and requirements.

- Experience with automating data collection processes via SNMP and CLI interfaces for Brocade, Cisco, Juniper, and Tellabs network hardware.

- Good team player.

DESIRED:

- Working knowledge of the Network Information System.

- Experience with Dreamweaver or other web design software.

- Experience designing and implementing automatic data validity checking.

- Ability to create and maintain CGI web pages for database display and updates.

- Experience with Linux OS based Postgres or MySQL database and MS SQL database.

- Working knowledge of and the ability to support the Network Mapping application

Clearance:

An active DOE Q-Clearance is required.

Qualifications:

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in a related field and 6+ years experience in a broad range of assignments in technical tasks directly related to the proposed area of responsibility. An additional 4 years of related expereince may be considered in lieu of a degree.
