SAIC has a career opportunity for a Mission IT Support - Software Developer/Knowledge Systems located in Albuquerque, NM. The candidate selected for this position will become a full time employee of SAIC.

Job Description:

The SAIC team is seeking a highly motivated and self-driven individual with a background in Software/Knowledge Systems Developer. A position exists for a motivated and customer oriented senior software architect to help design, develop, and deliver product data management solutions. Will work as part of an agile development team with computer scientists, software developers, and mechanical engineers to create systems that accelerate engineering analysis. Possible work assignments include all facets of agile software development, including requirements gathering, design, programming, and deployment of software solutions, as well as contributing to the setup and maintenance of tools used by the team - eg, software for source control, project tracking, systems monitoring, etc.

The successful candidate will have broad analytical skills, the ability to synthesize or transform data into information, the ability to work well with customers and cross organizational teams, technical ability to deliver, and a desire to learn new areas.

- Expert knowledge of the eMatrix PDM API.

- Working technical knowledge of other commercial product data management systems like TeamCenter and WindChill.

- Advanced knowledge of techniques and tools that support applications, including software development methodologies, database design methodologies, programming languages, source code control for release management, and disaster recovery methodologies.

- Ability to work with multiple hardware and operating systems, including system architectures and network infrastructures.

- Knowledge of databases including Oracle and MySQL.

- Extensive knowledge of the Java programming language and the Eclipse API.

- Ability to keep up with the latest technologies and tools in relevant work areas.

- Knowledge and experience in testing methodologies, including the ability to troubleshoot and identify solutions for issues.

- Ability to effectively work in a team environment and interact with diverse customers understanding the business domain.

- Ability to develop innovative long-term solutions that are easy to use, integrate with other applications, and are straightforward to maintain.

- Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and follow through to completion on multiple tasks, often under strict deadlines.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

REQUIRED:

- Tools/Skills - Five years work experience with Java, eMatrix, Eclipse, Kerberos, Oracle, Linux, and MySQL required.

- Process Driven -- Ability to work well independently and as a member of a process-driven and agile team and ability to contribute in several facets of disciplined software and/or system design and development. Scrum experience required. Scrum master experience a plus.

- Customer -- Strong customer service as evidenced by two substantive and positive references from customers (internal or external). The ability to communicate well and interact with a variety of customers.

- Team -- Strong team and interpersonal skills with demonstrated success working in a multi-disciplinary team as evidenced by substantive and positive references from peers or team members.

- Leadership -- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

- Systems Experience -- Experience in software application or systems engineering and product development. A working knowledge of complex n-tiered software systems, web based development, and emerging capabilities.

- Performance -- A consistent high standard of performance.

- Clearance -- Ability to obtain and maintain a required DOE Q-level security clearance.

- Travel -- Ability to travel occasionally based on program needs.

DESIRED:

Quality -- Experience with quality processes, methodologies and approaches to deliver products and services.

System Administration -- Experience with Scripting languages like Ruby, Python, and Perl. General Linux system administration experience.

Experience with the DART (Design through Analysis Realization Team) Workbench.

Clearance Level:

Position requires an active Department of Energy (DOE)-granted Q-level security clearance.

Qualifications:

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in a related technical field and 5+ years related experience. An additional 4 years of related expereince may be considered in lieu of a degree.
