Wellness & Prevention, Inc., a member of the Johnson & Johnson family of companies, is recruiting for a Software Engineer. This position is located in Ann Arbor, MI.

Wellness & Prevention (W&P) is the global leader in online delivery of behavior change interventions. Our behavioral support programs create unique health improvement plans for each individual. This plan and the subsequent continued care plans teach the participant how to achieve his or her individual goals.

W&P programs cover a wide range of health issues. Examples include: Health and Wellness - weight management, smoking cessation, stress management, Disease Management - Diabetes, Pain Management, Medication Adherence, and Behavioral Health - Insomnia, Depression.

We are searching for a software engineer to work in our Services and Support department. The successful candidate will be self-starting, have customer-focused vision, and a strong sense of urgency.

Typical day-to-day duties will include: Working with a team to configure SaaS applications to meet customer needs. Analyzing and correcting reported defects. Executing daily operations scripts. Writing application code for customer-specific features.

Qualifications

A minimum of a BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is required. A minimum of 5 years of experience progressively responsible web application development and database integration using industry standard tools (JSP, DHTML, Java, JavaScript, Oracle, JMS, JDBC, etc.) is required. Experience with the SpringMVC framework is required. Experience working within an Agile development framework, especially Scrum is preferred. Demonstrated understanding of Web Servers (primarily Apache Tomcat and JBoss) is required. Ability to work successfully as part of a dynamic, interdisciplinary team including writers, graphic designers, project managers, software engineers, database engineers and software quality assurance engineers is required. Thorough knowledge of browser compatibility and cross-platform development issues are required. Experience developing using various Unit Testing frameworks (JUnit, HTTPUnit) is required. Demonstrated ability to design and develop to Object Oriented Design principles is required. Very strong verbal communication, written communication and interpersonal skills are required. Strong ability to manage both time and work load independently is required.

The following are preferred; Experience with test driven development methodology. Experience with security standards, ethical hacking, various industry technologies. Well versed in Web 2.0 technologies, especially jQuery or other JavaScript libraries. Experience with Drupal or PHP. Familiarity with the Eclipse Development Platform.
