This position will integrate hardware and software components such as robots, analog devices, motion controllers, sensors and vision systems.

Creatively use available and developing technologies to improve manufacturing systems.

Debug, create, design, program, and commission controls systems.

Execute turnkey projects from early design and development through on-site installation and implementation.

Test machine functionality and verify all software involved.

Provide training for machine operation, programming principles and program structure.

Aggressive pursuit of process improvements and cost reduction.

Will be a team member on functional and or Matrix style projects.

Capital project justification and procurement for equipment, controls and tooling.

Ability to work on off shifts and weekends as needed.

Confer with engineers, production personnel, maintenance, or others to resolve machine problems or malfunctions.

Must be able to work effectively with operators and other manufacturing support staff to solve problems and improve productivity.



Bachelor's Degree in Engineering AND 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment


Master's Degree in Engineering AND 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

. A Master's Degree in required field = Credit given for 2 years of work experience.

. A PhD/Doctorate in required field = Credit given for 3 years of work experience


5 + years of experience with PLC platforms such as: ABB, Allen Bradley, Siemens and Mitsubishi.

Experience with PLC and HMI programming and commissioning.

Knowledge of network engineering and IT including PC handling, Windows applications, PC configurations, virus scanners, interfaces and backup practices.

Visual Basic programming skills

Hands - on ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues for robotics, control systems and machine operations.

Ability to produce from scratch, edit and interpret blue prints from Solid Works and AutoCAD.

Self-motivated and capable of balancing speed and accuracy to achieve efficiency.

Professional written and oral skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

Ability to adapt to new technologies and manage multiple conflicting priorities and deadlines.

Must be innovative with the ability to work with cross-functional groups to implement improvements.

Project management use of Gantt charts, critical path method, cost estimation and budgeting.

Understanding and ability to use gated project management process.
