Qualifications/Duties
This position exists to analyze, design, and implement training programs for the THR Center for Learning and Career Development, including eLearning applications, facilitated classes, workshops, and self-paced offerings. The role of the instructional designer is to increase the potential for learning transfer and encourage the engagement of learners so that they learn faster and perform better.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
* Bachelor's degree in Education or Communications related field (Education, English, Communications, Instructional Design, et. al.).
* Master's degree in Instructional Systems or Education Technology preferred.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Two years direct experience

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
Professional instructional design certification preferred, with strong preference toward Criterion Referenced Instruction.

SKILLS REQUIRED (IF APPLICABLE):
* Knowledge of leading adult learning principles and approaches to development (ie, ADDIE).
* Strong analytical skills
* Ability to solve complex problems;
* Highly developed listening and verbal communications skills;
* Excellent time management and organizational skills.
* Functional knowledge of leading training development tools including Microsoft Office; Adobe Creative Suite, incl. Flash and Captivate; HTML
* Articulate Presenter.

* Position requires some design sensibilities, mixed with a fascination for technology, an obsession with learning, and an innate drive to share what you know.

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
* Conduct needs assessment, performance analysis, learner analysis, and job-task analysis, in order to select the most appropriate instructional solution to a training-related problem
* Create a detailed design document, which requires the person to derive primary and secondary course objectives, build measurement and evaluation tools, plan learning activities, identify opportunities for performance support, and determine content needs
* Develop course materials, including eLearning modules, facilitator guides, students guides, handouts, and job aids using standard authoring and development tools.
* Evaluate the results of training activities using appropriate measurement and evaluation tools: reaction sheets, skill checks, survey, observations, interviews, etc.
