Department Description:
Business Services is responsible for supporting all activities related to the procurement and payment of goods and services in support of Georgia Tech's instructional, research, and public service programs. Business Services is comprised of Purchasing, PCard, Business Systems, Accounts Payable, Travel, Insurance & Claims, Logistics/Surplus, and Property Control.

Job Purpose:
Provide functional leadership in the analysis, resolution, and management of systems, applications, and data. Lead in the development and implementation of end user training and support processes for Business Services systems and applications. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance and providing feedback, and making pay recommendations.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide ongoing user support and resolution for complex system, application and/or data issues.
  • Serve as senior member of a cross-functional team supporting Business Services systems.
  • Develop and maintain specifications and test plans associated with system or application function, development,      implementation, and/or modification.
  • Manage year-end closeout process.
  • Lead periodic upgrades including feature evaluation, implementation, communication and post production end user support for assigned systems.
  • Prepare reports and other documentation related to Business Services functions and system assignments.
  • Identify and review new and modified technologies and coordinate associated implementation in order to meet evolving business needs.
  • Liaise and provide support between the functional and technical areas for system development.
  • Train internal and external users on system use and appropriate business processes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's  degree in Business Information Systems, Management, Accounting or related  field
  • Work Experience: Five to seven years job related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certifications: N/A
  • Skills: Must be familiar with Peoplesoft Financials, E-procurement systems and Imaging technology. Advanced level Excel, standard word processing and intermediate Powerpoint skills. Experience working in a University. Experience with accounting cycles and the ability to work and act independently to deliver results and/or provide end user support.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred Work Experience: PeopleSoft or SciQuest experience
  • Preferred Skills: Experience with Visio and SQL

Impact & Influence:
This position will interact on a regular basis with: unit management and staff. This position typically will advise and counsel: faculty and staff. This position will supervise: assigned staff.
