The Associate Manager, Quality Assurance will lead an exceptional team of QA engineers with a strong team-oriented culture within our Enterprise Data and Shared Services Department (EDSS). This team is responsible for analyzing impacts and testing AutoTrader.com's Business Intelligence (BI) and data warehouse environment. In this role they will partner with Development, Data Engineering Managers, IT Owners, and Program/Project Managers to ensure project deliverable timelines are meet while maintaining the highest level of quality possible. The Associate Manager, Quality Assurance possess strong hands on technical skills, and enjoys seeing great systems made, while leading all facets of the QA lifecycle - from test plans and test cases to successful production deployments. This position will partner with team members to creatively solve challenges, attract and retain talented professionals, work with management to set direction and priorities, and provide day-to-day leadership for a team of 4-8 employees.
- Establish testing standards and policies based upon organizational needs.
- Frequently collaborate with IT and other ATC business partners to design and build solutions that meet the needs of Autotrader.com.
- Create dashboards for upper management.
- Attract and retain talented professionals and evaluate team performance.
- Manage career progression for team members to include hiring, performance reviews, salary decisions, mentoring, coaching and all duties normally associated with a hiring manager.
- Assist in training recommendations.
- Represent the team in project meetings.
- Set direction for their functional discipline across IT by establishing and reporting on processes and procedures.
- Assist in the coordination of integration testing strategies.
- Responsible for allocation of resources on projects.
- Assist with the coordination of UAT
- Oversee testing lab
- Responsible for coordination efforts of data loads
- Assist in the promotion of code from development - production environment
Obtain and maintain a working knowledge of AutoTrader.com applications, customers and business units.
- Work effectively on multiple assignments, activities or projects.
- Manage individual work load and assist with defining and prioritizing tasks.
- Ensure appropriate testing documentation is produced for projects.

Qualifications
- 5+ years IT experience.
- 2-3 years' experience as a manager with direct reports.
Experience managing ETL, Business Intelligence (BI) and data warehouse (DWH) team is preferred.
- 2-3 years' experience testing within ETL, Business Intelligence (BI) and data warehouse (DWH) team; specific key technologies include Netezza, Informatica, Microstrategy, SAS (or equivalent Analytics tools) and Oracle is preferred.
- Working experience with scalable, distributed enterprise environments
- Knowledge of software configuration management systems and/or source code version control systems
- Working knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Knowledge of software process management and improvement techniques
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to manage time effectively, to work under pressure, to meet schedules/deadlines, to multi-task, to plan, organize, and prioritize work assignments, and pay close attention to detail
- Solid problem solving skills
- Ability to use good judgment in evaluation and decision making
- Experience with Microsoft Visio
- Experience with Microsoft Project
- Experience with Microsoft Office; specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, MIS/IT or Engineering required, advanced degree preferred with reporting tools such as Microstrategy, Cognos, SAS or Business Objects or related field of study or equivalent work experience
