Description
The Dealer Trainer is responsible for delivering high-impact educational content to AutoTrader.com customers and prospects that is designed to improve dealership performance in the multiple areas of online marketing. This individual, who will report to the Director, Dealer Training and 20 Groups, will also periodically deliver training material specific to key AutoTrader.com products as directed by AutoTrader.com Sales Leadership.
In addition to the actual delivery of training curriculum, the Dealer Trainer will also contribute to the development of new training material based on consultation with training participants, field sales, and other AutoTrader.com stakeholders.
- This position can be based anywhere in the United States. Frequent travel across the country and to the ATG HQ in Atlanta is required.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for delivering AutoTrader.com educational programs to Dealership Executive Management, Management and Personnel; and Internal AutoTrader.com customers as directed by the Director, Dealer Training and 20 Groups.
- Act as the face and voice of AutoTrader.com in educational forums that include in-dealership, in-market, and online webinar-based training.
- Participate in the identification of educational opportunities for dealer customers based on industry activities, interaction with AutoTrader.com employees and dealer customers
- In-depth foundational knowledge of current online marketing platforms as well as an ability to keep up to date on emerging trends and best practices to ensure that educational content is relevant and provides maximum value to audiences.
- Participate in the development of new training programs/content as directed by the Director, Dealer Training and 20 Groups.
- Leverage existing engagements to cultivate new training opportunities.
- Provide reporting as assigned by leadership team to include participants, photos and event recaps. Also record dealer interactions in CRM tool and refer follow-up items to local team members.
Qualifications
- 10+ years work experience that includes extensive exposure to and understanding of Automotive Retail or Marketing required.
- Prior Dealer Principal or Dealership General Manager experience preferred.
- Outstanding presentation delivery and audience engagement skills required.
- Demonstrated skills and experience presenting educational information to both large and small audiences in an engaging, interactive and entertaining fashion.
- Experience working with Automotive Industry Associations, Trade Groups and OEM's.
- Previous AutoTrader.com account management with proven results in relationship building preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Advertising/Marketing, or related field required.
- Ability to travel 80% of the time
