HP Service Manager Administrator

Skills: SQL, HPSM Request Management implementation

Summary:

Agile is seeking a HP Service Manager Administrator for a client in Atlanta. The successful candidate will become a member of the 24x7 Systems Programming group within the Information Technology Department. The candidate will be responsible for installs, maintenance and enhancements to software. The work associated with this position will be divided between new projects and support activities. The candidate must be well-rounded, possess maturity, vision, and a depth of experience that allows for grasping of issues quickly and making educated, critical judgments/decisions in the absence of complete information. The candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with on-call duties (rotational) as required and must possess the ability to work with a diverse, high-performance team. This is a 3-6 month contract to direct-hire opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Interface with internal business partners, third-party suppliers/vendors, and internal IT application programmers for both new development and problem determination/resolution
  • Assure the highest levels of stability, integrity, reliability, security, and availability of the applications under his/her responsibility
  • Adhere to the established change control policies and prescribed procedures; produce documentation and procedures as per client standards
  • Correct reported problems with software under his/her responsibility
  • Utilize HP Service Manager to track open tickets and follow up to resolution and closure
  • Execute special projects or other related duties as required

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experiencing supporting and implementing HPSM Request Management
  • 5+ years of experience supporting Distributed Application infrastructure
  • Knowledge of Change, Incident, Problem and Request Management workflows
  • Experience with Help-desk Management application
  • Aggressive Analytical/Troubleshooting with creative problem solving skills in highly complex problems
  • MS SQL Coding Experience
  • Technical agility
  • Basic understanding of networking
  • Availability to cover 7x24x365 operations and be on-call - on a rotational basis
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and maintain composure under pressure
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Helpdesk Management application hosted in a Microsoft SQL Server environment
  • HP Service Manager 7.x or 9.x System Administration
  • HP Service Manager 7.x or 9.x Configuration Management
  • HP Service Manager 7.x or 9.x Request Management
  • HP Service Manager 7.x or 9.x Service Catalog
  • JavaScript
  • MS SQL Server Reporting Services
  • Apache/Tomcat
  • Customer Relations Experience
  • Documentation Skills
  • HP uCMDB 9.0x or 10
  • DDM-I and DDM-A or Universal Discovery
  • HP Service Manager/ITIL Certifications
  • Administration of Team Foundation Server 2010
  • 3+ years of experience supporting and implementing HP Service Manager and related products in large IT. environment preferred
  • 4-year College Degree preferably in Information Systems, Computer Science is highly preferred!
